Organic Wine – drinkability on a budget

You should write what you know about… right… or at least things you have an opinion of? Well I can say I know what I like when it comes to wines under $10. Often that applies to what is currently being poured into my glass, but it has to make the cut to come home with me more than once.

The first thing I look for in a wine priced under ten bucks is the word organic or biologic on the label. I know some folks who look for wines with no sulphites, not a bad idea, especially if you are sensitive to it. Morethanorganic has an excellent post on sulphites here. I find that a lot of inexpensive organic wines are really very nice to drink. I know, it sounds like I’m not very picky, but I know what I like and I like to keep it simple.

What got me thinking about this again was my latest find, a Chardonay from Finca Flichman of Argentina. It’s a 100% Chardonay for only $5.99 a bottle. Yummy.

(from the label) Characteritics: Rich and complex yellow green colours. Floral and tropical fruits aromas merged with the presence of wood. In the mouth it is balanced, full and very long to the palate.

My New WordPress Woo Theme

I’ve been playing with WordPress for a couple of years now. Happily. It makes this whole blogging thing a piece of cake. Not that I’m a shining example of a blogger, but if it were made difficult by a buggy platform, I’d probably do something else. So thanks WordPress.

My biggest, and really only, frustration has been finding a free theme that would satisfy me for a while. In fact I had given up and was shopping for a “pro” theme. I even considered going for Thesis. You know, the one shamelessly plugged by “real” bloggers like Chris Brogan.

Before committing to plastic I gave it one more shot looking for a freebie theme. It’s always worth trying one more time before giving in, and that’s when I found WooThemes. Though I always new they were there, I was overwhelmed by all the options for WordPress themes.

WooThemes, in addition to their selection of well designed and full featured themes, offers a few themes for free. Thank you Woo Themes.

Very smart of them. I’m seriously considering paying for a theme from them in the near future since they have earned my trust with their freebie.
