To match the Adafruit iCufflinks:
The iNecklace is a gorgeously machined aluminum pendant with a subtle pulsating LED. Perfect for the playa or with Prada. Made for women who celebrate art, science, engineering and great design. Proudly made in North America (Canada and USA).
iNecklace completely open source. The source code, circuit board files, schematics and CAD files are posted on GitHub. Mod & Hack away!

And to celebrate metalworking month on MAKE, here are some of my favorite metal jewelry pieces.

Buy Handmade for Dad- Father’s Day Gift Round-Up
Posted on June 16th, 2011 • Filed under Look • No Comments
Happy Father’s Day to all of the dad’s out there! Thank you for playing catch with us for hours even when we dropped the ball every time. Thank you for telling us we did a great job in our soccer game even when we picked flowers instead of actually playing. And thank you for making us feel like you are Superman and would save the day if we ever needed it. To show some gratitude for our main dude, shop local, indie and handmade!

Brooklyn Brew Shopis a great local shop that sells DIY beer brewing kits that would be just perfect for a dad who digs drinking.

Give him something to pour that brew into with these rad Bike Beer Steins from the Etsy store, Vital.

For the father with a green thumb, you can support his gardening habit by ordering him some organic heirloom seedlings from The Bearfoot Shaman Etsy shop.

Or take away the heavy-lifting by virtually planting a tree in his honor with the help of a Tree People dedication.

Speaking of tress, honor them by giving Dad one of these Wooden Ties made out of reclaimed wood. These are so rad and weird, they are perfect for an off-beat Father who likes to wear a conversation-starter.

For the cigar smoker (like my step dad), there are a ton of really cool vintage accessories he would love. This vintage cut glass cigar lighter from Shop the Vintage Peach is a great pick, as is this vintage aluminum cigar case from My Heirloom Charms.

And lastly, for the nautical man, like my father-in-law, try a sweet handmade tie clip like this boat design from St. Joshua.

Happy Father’s Day and enjoy your weekend with dad!

Today is Labor Day in the U.S. which means we all get a day off from work. Since crafting is fun and most of us spend a lot more time making things for other people, I thought that today would be a great time for all of us to indulge in a little fashion crafting for ourselves! Let’s start by getting ready for the transition to fall with this jersey gathered scarf by Brookelynn Morris. It’s cute, simple, and very quick to make!
Here are more great DIY fashion projects:
